INT. ABOUT SECTION - DAY
Hey there! Nice to meet you!
My name is Logan Bartlett, Screenwriter Extraordinaire!
Or at least that's what I call myself. I prioritise myself as being a Fantasy focused writer, who creates epic episodic narratives for Anime and Cartoons! I prioritise myself on being able to deliver high quality Screenplays that have been written to the best of my abilities that focus on worlds and characters from your wildest of dreams!
The Story So Far!...
I Started out simply just being fascinated by books and fantasy in general, thanks to my Mum and her helping me grow my passion for reading! Growing up I read the entire Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and most of my fascination with world building and story telling coming from two series in particular, the How To Train Your Dragon series written by Cressida Cowell, and the Percy Jackson series written by Rick Riordan, and to this day these remain as my favourite works that I have ever read and inspire me in my day-to-day life more than I will care to admit! Another piece of media that heavily inspired me and became part of my life, was Doctor Who! My dad, being the massive nerd that he is, has been one of the main driving factors behind a lot of the things I grew up with and loving, and if it hadn't been for both of my parents, I would hate to imagine just how boring my life would be right now!
It wasn't until I was nine that I went and watched my Dad perform in the Fortieth anniversary concert for Centre Stage, a youth theatre company in my hometown, that I discovered a new passion. Performing! A few years later, he told me that the company were holding Auditions for new members, and that I was the right age to join. I joined with a clear goal in mind of being an actor, to become The Doctor! I stayed as a part of this company, performing on stage for over Six years, until over my final year, as I was approaching the end of Year 10, the first year of doing my GCSE's I realised... I wasn't enjoying acting and performing, and the drama that was becoming involved with everyone else in the company was not worth the value to pursue that career. So throughout that final term of the year I reverted back to my other passion, being creative and writing. It wasn't until over that summer that I had an amazing idea! What if I merged and combined my two passions and interests?
I discovered a book that was written by (at the time of its release) the lead writer of Doctor Who, The Writer's Tale by Russel T. Davies. This book was a detailed account of Emails and ideas of the scripts for Series Four of Doctor Who, and I fell in love, reading the ideas and the conversations between Davies and Script Editor Benjamin Cook as they wrote and rewrote individual scenes and whole episodes over the pre-production process of the Series. This was it! This was what I wanted to be! Who I wanted to become! For the first time in a long time, my goal was Clear, and my mind was set!
I was going to become a Screenwriter!
So, here I am, almost six years later, about to Graduate from the University of Chichester with a Degree in Screenwriting. Well, I hope I do at least! Over my time writing, I have planned, and remade countless ideas, from adapting initial novel ideas I once began writing, to creating brand new IP's. Many of my old ideas have not survived the passage of time unfortunately, but they managed to spring me forward nonetheless. Their sacrifices allowed for me to further develop other projects and their spirit lives on in them.
But for now, I shall bid you all a fond Farewell! I hope you've enjoyed learning more about myself and just exactly what my journey was to get to this point! Feel free to stick around and check out some of my works for yourself!
- Till next time! Laters!
